From the humanities to design school, where my thesis became my first job. In 2013 I founded Mallet Studio and ran it for ten years: around 300 projects, a team of up to ten, every part of the business. Today I’m Senior Art Director at Arsenalia, and I co-founded Gradeon.
I came to design from the humanities: a classical secondary school, then three years of political science. At 23 I took the entrance test for ISIA Firenze, and design, in all its forms, has been my work ever since. My thesis, beCycle, a campaign and an open-data map to get Florence cycling, was sponsored by the City of Florence and became my first job.
In 2013 I founded Mallet Studio in Florence. In ten years we delivered around 300 projects for public institutions, cultural foundations and companies, from Caterpillar’s dealer software, used by Cat dealers worldwide, to the European Rental Association, the Municipality of Florence and the Meyer Foundation. Several were international projects I took on from scratch.
I ran every part of the studio: first calls and quotes, hiring, concepts, presentations, administration and the day-to-day. We were never more than ten, so I learned to choose collaborators who were one step ahead of the projects, and to invest in them: every month I sat down with each designer to try new tools and better ways of working. Every team I built had a motion designer, to bring an interface to life before it was built.
Since 2023 I’ve been at Arsenalia: Senior Art Director on global luxury and fashion e-commerce, where I’m the UX/UI reference for a world-renowned jewellery maison, and since 2026 also Content Quality Lead for about ten content teams. On the side, with Federico Vietti, I co-founded Gradeon, an AI pre-grader for trading cards, live on iOS and Android.
That range is what I bring to a team. When I look at a screen I also see the quote, the people, the deadline and whoever will use it, and solutions built on the whole picture work better than solutions built on UX/UI alone.
